Artist Spotlight: D-WHY

I have heard of D-WHY before and seen him on recommended artists and songs pages, but yesterday was the first time I actually listened to any of his music. I’m really mad at myself about that. The high fashion that D-WHY wears makes him look like a spoiled rich kid whose parents funded his dream of becoming a rapper, and maybe that’s exactly the case. But that doesn’t take away from the fact that his flow is crazy, which you can see above as he murders the beat from Childish Gambino’s Freaks and Geeks. He has some really clever punchlines, and can also speak on real topics on tracks like New York Times. D-WHY has released one mixtape, Don’t Flatter Yourself, and has released a ton of singles and music videos. He has worked with an impressive group of artists including Casey Veggies, Hit-Boy, and Boi-1da. D-WHY’s music is definitely worth at least listening to, if not downloading also.
